Penthouse Renovation

Located near Washington Square Park in New York City, the penthouse apartment is surrounded by exterior balconies on the north and west sides with fantastic views to the city. The interior of the apartment lacked natural light and the poor condition of the existing doors and windows required their replacement. The building has landmark staus which limited the possibilities of changing the fenestration. We installed a series of large skylights in the living and bedroom ceilings to provide the light and openness the apartment desperately needed. The interior design was shaped around a simple white color palette juxtaposed with rich, colorful and luminous tile and furniture pieces. Cut crystal lighting fixtures along with shimmering white and yellow gold-leaf tiled surfaces provide a dynamic element as the light moves thru the space. A new stainless steel fireplace enclosure was custom made along with a new kitchen, plumbing fixtures and air conditioning system.
